The scope and importance of food processing are vast, with many diverse methods used to development of different food products. Food can be processed and preserved in many ways, including Sterilization, Fermentation, Baking, Canning, Drying, Freezing, Dehydration, Pickling, and irradiation.
When working in the food processing sector, there are literally thousands of different jobs available. There is something for everyone, whether it be in processing, quality, research and development, sales, marketing, manufacturing, teaching or in government. The food science degree is inherently multidisciplinary, which opens up many job opportunities.
